One hard call for Caleb..........

It has been a really long time since I updated my blog! I'm horrible....With that said, I feel like I need to do this. Caleb is going to hate me and this just may get deleted, we'll see :)

Last Friday, July 9th, I was sitting at home on the computer and I hear the front door open. Caleb patrols out west which is about 30 to 45 minutes away from our house. It's very unusual for him to just walk in the door without me knowing he's in town or coming home. Caleb had walked into the computer and what I saw made my heart drop. He was shaking and breathing hard and had tears in his eyes. Again, he's going to kill me for sharing this.

He explained to me that he had been sent out to a call where he had to give an 18 month old baby, who had been found in a canal, CPR and it doesn't look good. Caleb has been a Police Officer for nearly 8 years now. I have NEVER seen him break down. As weird as it may sound, it made me feel so good to see him like this. Not because I want him hurting, but it just reminds me even more than I already knew, that he is a giant teddy bear. His heart was hurting for this little girl. He is able to brush things aside very quickly, but I know he still thinks about her and how she is doing. That night things were not looking good for the little one, but the next day she started showing signs of life on her own. She is currently on Salt Lake at Primary Children's Hospital. They still don't know what the outcome will be, but it's in the Lord's hands. We pray for her and hope one day to see her happy and healthy again.

This may seem cheesy to some, but I had a hard time washing his pants after that night. I decided to take a picture for a reminder of how short life can be. Or the surprises that we least expect. I'm so thankful for the Officer Caleb is and how he is able to perform his job. I love you babe with all my heart. Please don't be mad that I posted this :)

Spring where are you?

We are ready for spring! The girls and I decided to go out and get rid of the ice and snow on our driveway hoping that it will help spring come sooner :) I hate this time of year! Do I wear my coat or jacket? Do I bundle the kids up or let them be comfortable? We want SPRING!A very enthusiastic Ri!
Tori, not really helping :) just enjoying herself! Haha! And again!

And I'm not really sure what she is shoveling here.....:)

Riley is a great helper. Not saying Tori isn't, but Ri gets determined and gets the job done! And Tori gets a little distracted sometimes :)

I hope she keeps that attitude through out life! And I really hope spring comes NOW!!!

So back in November it was our 7th wedding anniversary! How time flies. But here's the cheesy part, November 9th isn't only our wedding anniversary, but it's also our anniversary for when we started "going out"! LOL! 10 YEARS ago!!! Caleb surprised me, yet again, with a nights stay at Destinations Inn in Idaho Falls, which I didn't even know existed! It was such a surprise! We stayed in the Arabia room, which was awesome! Here are a few pics!

I don't remember which room this is. I think India or something.It was such a surprise. I usually know when he is up to something. But this one REALLY got me. And the best part is, when he ususally does stuff like this for me I have a hard time enjoying it cause I feel like throwing up in my mouth wondering how much it costs and which bills aren't gonna be paid because of it. But this time, he worked some extra shifts and saved the money to pay for it! I had no idea and I could fully enjoy myself! I want to go back! I think I'll keep him around for another 10 years!~ :)

It's so fun having girls! We had a girls day the day after Christmas and had a blast! First we hung out at home and did makeup.......Riley did mine as you can see below! Then we shopped, visited Grandpa Murdock, shopped somemore, then ate at The Olive Garden. The best part of the day was it didn't cost me a dime! (Except gas if you get technical!) We had a few gift certificates and had fun using them! At Barnes and Noble being big girls and reading. Love it! It's their favorite store in the mall!
Here they are cheesing it at Olive Garden. They didn't care for the food, but I sure did!

Riley's favorite Christmas present is her dress up and makeup. It's hilarious to watch her put it on. She asked so cute if she could do mine, how could I turn her down? I think she did a great job! She was the salon worker and I was the customer!

The girls got an early Christmas present this year! One of Caleb's friends had a litter of kittens that were getting eaten by coyotes. So we decided to take one (maybe two, if the other one hasn't already become dinner!) But I tell you, she is such a good little kitty! She knows the litter box now and let's the girls lug her around EVERYWHERE! It's so funny. Her name started out as Fluffy. Then Snow White, then Jasmine, then, Tink, then Ariel, and now back to Tink. I think. It'll be different tomorrow I'm sure!

Ri says, " I think kitty needs to go potty. She stinks." Hahahahha!

And I'm one of them! It's been a long time since I made cookies and I let the girls help me, so it's their fault for the frisbee cookies! I guess we left out about 1 cup of flour! They wouldn't even scrape off the pan easily! Lol!

We added the flour we missed and got some pretty yummy cookies. I need to practice more!

Lagoon

I've never been to Lagoon when it's not scorching outside, but I have to tell you I liked it so much more in Oct verses the summer! We had so much fun. We spent the WHOLE day there. The girls wanted to ride each ride 5 times! It was cute. I found out that Tori is one brave little chick, and Ri is brave but hates herself for it! Haha! Tori went on "The Bat" with me which is a roller coaster that has your feet hanging rather than in a cart like most. She loved it! I never would have rode that when I was 5! Ri rode a mini-"Rocket" with Caleb. The poor girl hated it! She cried and I felt so bad! Caleb told her to close her eyes to help. It was so cute to see her on the ride holding daddy's hand, sobbing a little, and closing her eyes. She stuck with the "ground" rides after that!

One of their fav's was the boats. This is the ride that Ri hated. But she'll tell you today that it was her favorite ;)They both really liked this one too. They rode it a ton!We had so much fun!!!

Summer is almost over and I hate it!!! The girls really wanted to play in the water so I decided to let them since it's starting to get cold. They had so much fun......well kindof :) Tori had a blast just getting wet in her clothes and having Ri spray her.
And Ri had just as much fun spraying Tori!

They would have done this all night long if I let them.Until............................. Tori decided she wanted a turn with the hose!

Labor Day and Fair fun

We had a great Labor Day! We were able to go to Utah and see Caleb's dad from Hawaii for the weekend. He flew out that day and we headed home. We stopped and made spontaneous visits to the Hill Aerospace Museum and the Blackfoot Fair. It was a fun and long day! And Riley got her ears pierced that day too! She didn't even cry which surprised me!! Ri is definately a city girl. She shakes whenever she sees cows or pigs ( except horses). Everyone was laughing at her cause she walked around the barn at the fair plugging her nose!Tori on the other hand was born to live on a farm I think!It's been a long time since I've been to the Aerospace Museum. The girls loved to see all the cool planes.We left Utah around noon, had lunch, got Ri's ears pierced, stopped at the Museum, hit the road to Idaho, stopped at the fair, and headed back home around 9:30. We had a blast!

My little girls are so brave and so awesome! We had so much fun at the cabin last weekend! Caleb helped both girls shoot some targets and they loved it! It took Ri a little while to do it, but she decided on her own that she could with dad's help! They are so cute! Of course we told them the dangers of guns and that they are not toys!!!

We found some bunk beds at a garage sale a couple weekends ago. They weren't too bad for $50 except they needed some new paint! I wish I would have taken before and after pics, but that's ok! Ri sleeps on the bottom and Tori on top, but they wanted to switch for the picture!! I've had this dresser for years! It used to be white, so we spiced it up a lil!! I think it turned out way cute!!

My little cutie pie! One of them anyway!!!Caleb is such a good dad and let the girls paint too. I was freakin a lil, but they had a blast! Oh and by the way, anyone know how to get spray paint out of white pants??? :D

We had sooo much fun! It was a great family activity!!! And cheap too!!

Tori's soccer party!

Tori had her last soccer game last week. We went to Papa Kelsey's for pizza after with her team. It was really fun. Tons of pizza!!!!! I'm so glad I signed her up for soccer this year! She made some really good friends! And we also found out that one of the boys has a MAJOR crush on Tori! So funny! Lookin a little tired here.

After everyone was done eating the coach got up and handed everyone their metals. Tori hates being center of attention, so she hid under the table and cried! I don't know where she came up with this but it has happened more than once! I'm learning to ignore it and hopefully she'll get over it! So we had to go home and take a bath, then took her pics with her metal and certificate! I love her so much!

Albertson's is the greatest place on Earth!!!!!! They are having an awesome sale rightnow! Buy $25 of participating kraft groceries, get a $5 catalina coupon back, and send in a $20 rebate!!! So it's all free! Even better! Use coupons and you are getting PAID to take the groceries home!!! They are also having an awesome cereal deal. I got paid $.25 per box of Post Selects cereal, which is soooo good!!! I don't know about you but I'll shop anywhere that pays me to take home their groceries!!!!! So all in all.........I brought home $356 worth of groceries for $76!!! But that's not it!!!!! I will be sending in $40 worth of rebates! So actually I got all this food for $36!!!!!! Here is a side view so you can see all the cereal! I think in total I bought about 40 boxes.

I also got a few other things that weren't in the rebate, but they were on sale and of course had coupons for them!

If you aren't a couponer, you should seriously think it over! It saves us sooooo much money!! I kinda have to plan our meals around it, but I don't care! Makes life easier!!!!

Our 4th of July was way fun! We left our house at 8am and didn't get home till 12am! Fun times! Started out with the parade in Idaho Falls, always a fun memory of when I was a kid. Then went to McDonald's for some lunch, then to my dad's for slip n slide and nap time. Had some dinner then headed off for the fireworks! It was a long but fun day! I had to wrestle the girls to get them to take a picture with me!

So I went to Kmart to pick up a few things and while I was there I found the best deodorant deal EVER!!!! The Old Spice was on sale for $2.19 and the Secret was on sale for $2.49. BUT...... Kmart had tear pads with $2 off coupons on them!!!! Caleb's deo was only $.20 each and mine $.52 each! For all 14 deodorants I only spent $5.04 !!!!!!!!!!!!! That is the price of just 2 regularly! Crazy deal! We are stocked up for a long time!

Tori's very first soccer game! Doesn't she look so cute?!!!! She had a great time. Her team lost but that's ok. She played the whole first half and just kept running like a champ! I could tell she was really tired but she never gave up! It's fun to watch her play. She is a little shy and stays back, but she runs around with a smile on her face and I love it! Sometimes she just looks at the person running next to her and just smiles and laughs like " Isn't this so fun!" Atleast that's how it looks!

I'm so proud of her. I know I say this ALL the time, but tonight it hit me hard again. My baby is growing up!!! I still had to walk her up to her coach and team though, so I guess in some ways she'll always be my little baby! I love you Tori!!!

Albertson's!!!!!!

I had another great trip to Albertson's! Here I got 10 packages of hotdogs (which ended up being FREE!) 10 boxes of Fiber poptarts, 20 dannon yogurt singles, 10 refried beans, 4 bags of pretzels, a HUGE tub of strawberries, and some bananas! Before coupons this would have cost me $105.75 but I got it all for $31.81! Now that's a good deal! I am mad at myself for this one though. General Mills has a deal going that if you buy 3 boxes of cereal you get a free gallon of milk. So I grabbed 6 thinking I will get 2 free gallons. I waited and waited for my coupon to print but it never did. When I asked the cashier about it, we discovered I got the wrong SIZE of box! I got the smaller sz and it was $1 more than the bigger size??!!! Crazy I know! So I got to the car and figured I'll take them back and get the right size and get my milk coupons. BUT, then I saw this...........

They have cash cards in them! So I debated wether I should take them back or take the chance of winning a cash card. So I gambled and opened my cereal. I looked like a retard but I didn't care cause I got 2 $5 cash cards! So needless to say, even though I got smaller boxes and no milk, it all breaks even with my $10 that I can use ANYWHERE!!

But I do regret doing it the way I did. I wish I would have taken them back, but what can you do!?!!!!!

Here are just some random pictures that I took with my phone. This dog was huge! You can't tell the size of it very well with the picture, but he looked like a horse!He put his paws on Caleb's shoulders and was taller than him! He was pretty much just a big dumb playful dog! When I first saw him I instantly got between him and the girls, but then he was one of the gentlest dogs ever! Crazy

First time ever seeing a pig upclose, besides at the zoo. Tori thought they were funny. Notice that Ri isn't there, she was scared of them. Shaking and all! So she was in the car. The big dog didn't help her either. Then she accidentaly honked the horn in the car, that was it for her! She had enough of getting scared!

And then here she is as a cowgirl! A pretty little one if I must say so!

My goofy little nephew Rigdon! He kept smashing his face in the window making me and my sister laugh so hard our cheeks and stomachs hurt!

I love to go in and check on my girls at night before I go to bed. They are so sweet and usually say crazy half awake half asleep stuff. But this is what I found lastnight! Cute little mommies! I love it. Ri will walk around with her baby rocking it to sleep saying, "sh sh sh sh." It's so dang cute! I hate how fast they are growing up! I don't want Tori to start Kindergarten this fall :( It makes me sad and scared that I cannot protect to her forever! I am having some serious anxiety about it, but somehow through it all, she is sooooooo excited to start school! I tease her and say she's my baby and is never going to go to school. She just gets so mad at me! Ugh, August is too close, can't I keep her home one more year? Or 18 yrs??!!!

So we have developed a bad bedtime habit at our house! The night starts out brushing the girls teeth, reading, saying prayers, yada yada yada. Ok so then I say goodnight and walk out. Then it starts..........."Mom".....(I ignore hoping they stop)........"Momma".......(ignore)......."Mommy"......(ignore)......"MOMMMMMMMMMm!".....Ugh!! I finally go in and they usually just want to say something or tell me the other one is bothering them and whatnot. The first time isn't usually so bad I can handle that one. But this happens 4 to 5 time per night!!! I feel like a grumpy grouchy mom! I don't want them to feel like they can't talk to me when they need to, but I'm having a hard time getting them to understand to tell me BEFORE mom leaves the room! I've tried to ignore it and see if they finally just stop, but they don't. I don't want them to go to bed thinking I'm mad at them either! So I am open to any suggestions on how to stop this BAD habit!!!! FYI: this is going on rightnow! ;)

My poor Riley does not have the best of luck when it comes to her head. I was just thinking a few days ago that she has gone a few weeks without a goose egg on her forehead.....................I spoke too soon! She ran right into the staircase outside at our apartment. It's metal so it made a really loud noise, loud enough that the neighbor came out to see if she was ok. She really worries me because when she cries hard enough she doesn't breathe and then passes out. It's almost like a seizure cause she shakes a little. It's really freaky. Anyone elses kids have this problem?

We went to our cabin again with my friend Angelica and her kids. So much fun! Her boys are pretty dang close to the same age as my girls, so it's fun to let them play. Tori and collin were actually born in the same hospital 11 days apart. It took us to go all the way to Hawaii to meet, but it's so crazy that we were so close all along! They always have a blast playing and we always have a blast just being lazy and talking! Huge butterfly! It stayed there for quite a few hours, then just decided it wanted to fly away! The kids even touched it!

Tori, Collin, Ri, and Brody. Brody tried to hold Ri's hand but Ri screamed at him.....

Soooo badly wanted to shove one of them in! Of course knowing that they would be ok!

Not long after that Tori put her flip flops back on and then kicked the water. Low and behold....it flipped right into the river and started down stream. I sacrificed my out of shapeness and ran after it! Mom was the hero for the day!!

Ok so the stuff on the left is from Walgreens and the stuff on the right is from Albertsons. After coupons and in store rewards at Walgreens I only paid $2.68 for 4 boxes of aspirin, 2 pb's, and 2 jams! I basically was paid to buy the aspirin! Woohoo! The mac n cheese at Albertson's was on sale buy one get one (5 packs) and they had coupons on them to receive free caprisun juice! I also have another V8 but it's gone. I can't get enough of it! I can't remember the exact amount that I paid but it was $9.?? ish. Not too bad!

We weren't able to go camping or anything this year. For one, Caleb had to work. For two, we don't have any camping gear! So we camped out in the living room and made smores on the stove! The girls love doing stuff like that. Although it wasn't the real thing, it was still fun. I love Memorial Day not only for the camping and hanging out with family and friends, but for main reason of the holiday. To remember those who have fought for our country and made our freedom possible. This country is the greatest! Thankyou to all those who put their life on the line for us. And thankyou to the families who go as long as years while their loved ones are out fighting for us. God Bless You!!

Happy Birthday to Ri!!! I can't believe my baby is 3!! AAHhhhh!! It's not fair!! We had a good day! I had to work which is ok, then we ate at Chillis thanks to my dad for the gift card! Then did a little coupon shopping at Albies....again....this time not so good. Don't ask, it angers me and I might punch someone in the face. Anyway, then we went to Kmart and let Riley pick out a bday toy. I got my bday toy as well, a new crock pot! Woohoo! We haven't had one since we moved to Hawaii, so it was perfect! All together a great bday for both me and Ri! Oh yeah, the picture with the cake and all the frosting scraped off.....Tori and Ri too impatient for me to get them some cake! Love my girls!

Some of the things I'm most excited about are #1- The Soleil razor and refills. Albertson's had the razor on sale for $4.99 and then I had a coupon for FREE refills! To you this might be so frickin lame, but let me tell you.......I have NOT had my own razor since I got married! Almost 7 years!!!!! I just use Calebs ;). I've never wanted to spend $8 or $9 for the girlie ones. So I felt like I totally got a deal on this! #2- Tree top apple juice. Albies promo buy4/$10 and instantly get $3 off. But I also had 4 $1/2 coupons from SS and IP. so I got 8 Bottles for $10.96! We go through apple juice like crazy! In total I spent $81 and saved $103!! Love it!

Tori turns 5!!!!!

My baby turned 5! I hate it! But she is loving it! All day long she pointed out every 5 she saw! She opened presents in the morning (which I do not recommend and will never happen at our house again!) then later that night we went to Pizza Hut and came home for cake. It was a good day! We surprised her Saturday and went to our friends house to ride horses, her one true love in life! It was another great day! Ri got some battle wounds from falling off the horse. But she is a toughy and got back on! I was so proud of her!

Easter 2009!

We had a great Easter this year. Besides the fact we were ALL sick!!! We had an egg hunt in Ucon that really wasn't so great. The girls got about 3 things each. But they really enjoyed Easter morning and thought it was funny the easter bunny hid all the eggs they colored! We didn't go to church because my head was being squished by who knows (atleast that's how it felt!) so I did a little lesson here at home for the girls on the Reserection.
